GENERAL INFORMATION
The QIP IRC held a Summer Workshop from 29th June – 3rd July 2008. The aim of the Workshop was to provide a chance for selected participants to present results to other members of QIP IRC, together with plenty of opportunity for networking and building collaborative relationships. Graduate students and researchers working in any groups affiliated to the QIP IRC were eligible to attend. Faculty and other senior QIP IRC participants were especially welcome.
The closing date for applications was Friday 16th May 2008; places were limited to approximately 45 and were allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Each morning there were tutorial lectures in three themes:

Robert Taylor Superposition and entanglement in resonant cavities
Axel Kuhn Superposition and entanglement in atoms and photons
Problems were set in advance, and in the evenings before dinner there was a session going through the problems. After dinner there were poster sessions.
Those attending are warmly encouraged to bring posters. There will also be an opportunity to display the posters at the Conference in
There will be 24 slots of 30 minutes for selected delegates to give a talk about their own research. These lectures will be judged, and the winners will be awarded prizes and the opportunity to present their lecture at the QIP IRC Conference in
Please indicate on the application form whether you would be prepared to give a lecture. In the event that more than 24 applications for lecture slots are received, Dr. Robert Taylor and Professor Andrew Briggs will make the final selection.
