Arrays of quantum dots
Another way of enhancing the weak interaction of quantum dots with light is to use many of them. This project will use arrays of quantum dots to retain and process quantum information; the aim will be to demonstrate the use of such an array as a quantum memory, and the controlled transfer of quantum information between static (dot array) and propagating (light) forms.
